  • It Was Probably The Triptych Grid

    Baaaa!

This website purports to analyze a blog page and "type" the author.  It's certainly an easy interface:  just plug in a web address of a blog.  My results:

    INTP - The Thinkers

The logical and analytical type. They are especialy attuned to difficult creative and intellectual challenges and always look for something more complex to dig into. They are great at finding subtle connections between things and imagine far-reaching implications.

They enjoy working with complex things using a lot of concepts and imaginative models of reality. Since they are not very good at seeing and understanding the needs of other people, they might come across as arrogant, impatient and insensitive to people that need some time to understand what they are talking about.

As it happens INTP is, in fact, my Myers-Briggs type.  Sometimes the "I" moves over to "E" -- that's "Introversion" to "Extroversion" -- depending on my mood.  To further cement the Blog Typealizer's place in pop-pseudopsychology, "the logical and analytical type" is the overwhelming consensus of astrologers everywhere as being the defining descriptor for Virgo.  And, sadly, it all actually really does describe my modus operandi pretty damn well.

P.S. The picture is off in two ways:  I don't use a Mac and I don't drink Jolt! Cola.  Otherwise, heheheh.

  • Can't say I'm surprised, I'm an INTP myself. With extra I.

The picture is a bit inaccurate. Jolt cola is drunk primarily by the programmer/hacker crowd. They use Windows or Linix PCs. Mac users are mostly designers and we drink coffee!

  • hm...methinks my own blog might not be a good representation of who I am. Or I don't know myself. It gave me the following assessment:

    ESTP - The Doers

The active and play-ful type. They are especially attuned to people and things around them and often full of energy, talking, joking and engaging in physical out-door activities.

The Doers are happiest with action-filled work which craves their full attention and focus. They might be very impulsive and more keen on starting something new than following it through. They might have a problem with sitting still or remaining inactive for any period of time.

  • @tworavens - You have a certain restless energy, even if it's not as extroverted as the analysis indicates.  The "Sensing/Thinking/Perceiving" bit has you dead to rights, per the actual Meyers-Briggs description.

According to Keirsey, ESTPs, or "Promoter Artisans", are the most adept among the types at manipulating other people. Promoting is the art of maneuvering others to one's position. Concrete in speech and utilitarian in action, they are smooth operators. The ESTP knows everyone who matters and everything there is to do because they are very resourceful, always knowing where the fun and action is. They like to indulge themselves in the finer things in life and to bring other people with them. Their goal in life is to sell themselves and their ideas to others. Dramatic and debonair, they are gifted at earning others' confidence.

The Extroversion bit it totally off, in my view.  Perhaps its your sparsely worded entries that lent an air of one who'd rather be outside than blog? Heh.
